🎶 What’s Lena Thinkin’ About? 🎶

it’s beautiful outside today, which is helping me stay focused and positive despite this being a very challenging week for anyone who a) lives in or knows about the United States and b) has empathy. i long for the day when i am shocked by mass shooting news, or news of violence against women and/or people of color. personally, i’m having a bit of a rough go of it mentally after a schedule-less year in quarantine. professionally, i had to watch three movies about rape this week. i am very grateful to be able to compile all these nice videos today for you. it’s really helped me decompress.

as i continue working every week to put out this happy little newsletter, i hope you also enjoy it as an opportunity to reflect on some of the sweetest bits of life.

i’ve been wanting to feature some of these for a while, and i was ultimately inspired to do so when i saw a few videos set to the beautiful outro to Phoebe Bridgers’ “Scott Street” — a trend started by user @temporalduck. though the styles all vary, these are all captivating little portraits of young life both before and after the coronavirus pandemic. if you are the kind of person (like me!!!) who absolutely loves self-indulgent coming-of-age films, you will really enjoy this little collection.
